Nail Decal Information
Decal sizes we offer
Choose the decal size that best fits the natural nail or tip profile:
-
23 mm — best for petite or narrow nails and children.
-
30 mm — ideal for small to medium nails.
-
40 mm — works well for most medium to large nails and full-cover tip applications.
-
50 mm — for extra-wide nails, full press-on sets, or large surface art.
When selecting a size, hold the decal over the nail before application to confirm coverage and placement. You can trim decals slightly for a custom fit.
**YOU CAN UPLOAD IMAGES FOR CUSTOM DECALS BUT PLEASE NOTE A FEW THINGS
Please note that all submitted photos will be resized, edited, or cropped as needed to ensure proper fit within the decal dimensions.
When sending photos for custom nail decals, image quality is extremely important — the clarity of your image will directly affect the final result.
-
If your photo has a filter applied, your decal will reflect that same filter.
-
If your image is grainy, blurry, or out of focus, the decal will appear the same way once printed.
-
If your image was taken in a dark or poorly lit environment, your decal will also print darker.
Essentially, the quality of the image you provide will determine the quality of your decal. For best results, please submit clear, high-resolution images taken in good lighting with no filters.
All custom nail decals are printed on white paper, not transparent film.
Professional Application Steps
1. Trim the decal
Carefully cut out the artwork you plan to use. Make a precise, clean cut as close to the printed edge as possible to reduce excess film on the nail.
2. Prep the nail with gel (adhesive layer)
Apply a thin layer of foil/adhesive gel where the decal will sit. Cure according to your lamp and product instructions — typically 30–60 seconds with a UV/LED lamp. (Follow the gel manufacturer for exact curing time.)
3. Soak the decal
Place the trimmed decal face-up in warm water for 10–15 seconds to loosen it from the backing paper.
4. Release the decal
Gently slide the printed film off the backing paper. Use tweezers or a scribe for control if needed.
5. Position and smooth
Place the decal onto the cured gel area. Smooth the image gently with your fingertip or a soft silicone tool, starting from the center and pushing outward to remove any bubbles or excess water. Take care to avoid creasing or wrinkling.
6. Seal the design
Once positioned, lock the decal in with your preferred top coat—base/top systems, glossy, or matte. If using a gel top coat, cure according to product directions.
7. Remove excess film
If any decal film extends beyond the free edge, file it away using a one-direction motion for a clean finish. Use a 180–240 grit file for acrylic/gel, or a finer grit for natural nails.
8. Finalize / encapsulate
If the design requires durability (e.g., for long extensions or heavy wear), proceed with encapsulation (builder gel, acrylic, or gel overlay). Otherwise, apply a final top coat and cure as needed to complete the look.
Pro Tips & Best Practices
-
Encapsulate for longevity: Encapsulation provides the most durable, professional result — highly recommended for press-ons, long extensions, or clients who need long wear.
-
Avoid over-saturation: Don’t soak decals longer than necessary; over-soaking can weaken the adhesive film.
-
Work quickly but carefully: Decals can shift as the adhesive becomes tacky. Position and smooth promptly after placing.
-
No-wipe gel top coats work well as a sealing layer before a final glossy/matte finish.
-
File gently: When removing excess decal, file in one direction to prevent ragged edges or lifting.
-
Test on practice tips: If you're trying a new brand of decal or adhesive gel, do a test application first to dial in cure times and technique.
Troubleshooting
-
Wrinkles after placement: Lift gently (if still malleable) and re-smooth; if cured, file away and reapply a new decal.
-
Decal lifting at edges: Ensure the nail surface is clean, properly cured, and the decal is fully sealed with top coat or encapsulation.
-
Cloudy or hazy finish: May be caused by trapped water—pat nail dry before final top coat and ensure proper curing.
Storage & Handling
Keep decals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Store flat to prevent bending or creasing. Handle trimmed decals with clean tweezers to avoid fingerprints on the adhesive side.
